Who we are +
Our Story
Faith Church began as Bright Clouds Christian Church in 1983, holding services in a movie theater in downtown Bethel, Connecticut. From the very beginning, our mission was clear: to build strong disciples through worship, community, and Christian education. This passion led to the founding of New Hope Christian Academy, a private Christian school dedicated to equipping young minds with faith-based learning.
As the congregation grew, the need for a permanent home became evident. In 1992, our small but committed church family built its first facility on Clapboard Ridge Road in Danbury, which also housed our growing school—including a new high school. God continued to bless us, and by 1998, we had built a larger sanctuary and expanded to three services to accommodate everyone. In an effort to reach even more people with the Gospel, Pastor Frank launched the television program Destined to Win, broadcasting across Connecticut, New York, and New Jersey. During this time, the church also changed its name to something that better represented the heart and soul of its people–Faith Church.
Recognizing the need for a larger, more impactful space, God gave Pastor Frank a vision in 1999 for a Family and Community Life Center. This vision became a reality when land was purchased in southern New Milford, leading to the construction of our current church campus and K-12 school, now known as Faith Preparatory School. The facility was dedicated in June 2005, and soon after, WOW Kids Learning Center was launched, providing Christian daycare to the community. Within months, we were back to multiple services to meet the growing demand, with membership soaring to over 2500.
As a diverse, multicultural congregation, Faith Church expanded its outreach by launching Spanish services in April 2009, followed by Portuguese services in May of the same year. Recognizing the need to serve members who traveled long distances to worship, we planted a campus in Times Square, New York City, in 2012, followed by our Wolcott campus in 2018.
Today, Faith Church continues to see supernatural growth, with current membership hovering around 6000 and God adding to the church daily, as it should be. We are currently expanding our facilities again to make room and preparing for even greater things to come. What began as a small gathering of believers with a big vision is now a thriving church community, that is living proof of our church motto and that is “with Jesus you are destined to win!
What we believe
The Scriptures
We believe the Bible is the inspired and inerrant Word of God that reveals God’s plan for mankind and that the New Testament is our guide to conduct and doctrine. (2 Tim. 3:16; 1 Thess. 2:13; 2 Peter 1:21)
The Godhead
We believe there is one true Godhead comprised of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. All are co-equal and co-eternal. (Matt. 28:19; 1 John 5:7) Jesus Christ, God manifest in the flesh, is the second member of the Godhead. (Isa. 9:6; John 1:1,14)
Man, His Fall and Redemption
We believe man was created in God's image. By voluntary transgression, he fell and his only hope of redemption is in Jesus Christ, the Son of God. (Gen. 1:26-31, 3:1-7; John 3:3, 16; Romans 5:12-21, 10:8-10; 2 Cor. 5:17)
Salvation Of Man
Man's only hope of redemption is through the shed blood of Jesus Christ. On the cross, Jesus Christ became sin and sickness, providing both salvation and healing for all mankind (Ps. 103:3). This salvation comes by believing in your heart that God raised Jesus from the dead and confessing with your mouth, Jesus as Lord. (Rom. 3:24, 10:8-10; Eph. 2:8)
The inward evidence to the believer is the direct witness of the spirit. (Rom. 8:16) The outward evidence is a life of true holiness and love. (1 John 3:23; John 13:35) Salvation is by faith in Jesus Christ and not by human works; however our works are evidence of our faith and will determine our rewards in eternity. (Acts 3:16, Rom. 10:9,10, 14:10-12; 2 Cor. 5:20; Eph. 2:8; Titus 3:5-7; Jam. 2:18)
Water Baptism
We believe that water baptism is by immersion and is a direct commandment of our Lord for all believers. The ordinance is a public profession of the Christian's identification with Christ in His death, burial, and resurrection. (Matt. 28:19; Romans 6:4; Colossians 2:12; Acts 8:36-39)
Baptism + Gifts of the Holy Spirit
The Baptism in the Holy Spirit and fire is a gift from God promised by the Lord Jesus Christ to all believers in this dispensation and received subsequent to the New Birth. This experience is accompanied by the initial evidence of speaking in other tongues as the Holy Spirit gives utterance. (Matt. 3:11, John 14:16,17; Acts 2:38,29; Acts 19:1-7; Acts 2:4)
We believe in the gifts of the Holy Spirit as outlined in 1 Corinthians 12.
Resurrection of the Just and the Return of Our Lord
We believe in the bodily resurrection and redemption of all believers and the imminent return of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. (Acts 1:11; 1 Thess. 4:16,17; Revelation 20:6)
Divine Healing
Healing is for the physical ills of the human body and is wrought by the power of God. This power is manifested in several ways: a sovereign act of God, the spiritual gifts of healing, the prayer of faith, and by the laying on of hands. It is and was provided for in the atonement of Christ. (Mark 16:18, James 5:14,15; 1 Peter 2:24; Matt. 8:17; Isa. 53:4,5)
Communion
We believe in the celebration of the Lord's Supper and that it is a remembrance of Jesus' death until He returns. It is to be observed and practiced with reverence and full understanding of His complete redemptive work. (1 Cor. 11:23-30) We welcome any believers to join us in this celebration.
The Church
The Church is the Body of Christ. Each believer is an integral part. (Eph. 2:19-22, Heb. 13:2,3)
Stewardship - Total Stewardship:
-
Spiritual (John 3:3,11; 2 Cor. 5:17-21; Rom. 10:9,10)
Mental (Is. 26:3; Rom. 12:2; 2 Tim. 1:7)
-
Physical (Is. 53:4,5; Matt. 8:17; 1 Pet. 2:24)
-
Financial (Deut. 28:1-14; Mal. 3:10,11; Luke 6:38; 2 Cor. 9:6-10; 3 John 1:2)
-
Social (Prov. 3:4)
Resurrection of the Just and the Return of Our Lord
His coming is imminent. When He comes, "...the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air..". (Acts 1:11; 1 Thes. 4:16,17) Following the Tribulation, He shall return to earth as King of kings, and Lord of lords, and together with His saints, He shall reign a thousand years. (Rev. 20:6)
Hell and Eternal Retribution
The one who physically dies in his sins without accepting Christ is hopelessly and eternally lost in the lake of fire and therefore, has no further opportunity of hearing the gospel or repenting.
The lake of fire is literal. The terms "eternal" and "everlasting," used in describing the duration of punishment of the damned in the lake of fire, carry the same thought and meaning of endless existence as used in denoting of joy and ecstasy of saints in the Presence of God.
(Heb. 9:27; Rev. 19:20)
